Morton Manufacturing Company Acquires  

 

YSD, L.L.C.

 

  Morton Manufacturing Company, Libertyville, IL, has acquired all the assets of YSD, effective June 16, 2008.  YSD produces railroad running boards, end platforms and brake steps, in addition to industrial safety grating products under the original Apex design.

 

According to Jeffery W. Covert, president, this addition will broaden Morton’s railroad line and provide the company with an opportunity to better service the repair/replacement side of its business.   “We will continue to produce and ship the YSD products from the Bridgeville, DE plant,” explains Covert.  “However, all sales inquiries and orders will be handled by Morton in Libertyville, IL. We are excited about the opportunity to supplement our business and continue our leadership role in the railroad industry with the safest, most reliable and complete line of Running Boards, End Platforms, Brake Steps and Intermodal Boards.” 

 

Morton will refer to the YSD Running Boards as Morton APEX ® Running Boards in its sales literature and order forms.
